Meet JeCari Patton

2024 Anthony Jolly Memorial Scholarship Recipient

JeCari Patton is more than a multi-sport athlete — he is a connector.

Coaches describe him as the teammate who brings people together. Teammates know him as someone who encourages, supports, and lifts others up. Teachers see him as a steady, respectful leader who leads through action rather than words.

It is this spirit of unity, positivity, and community that made JeCari stand out as the 2024 recipient of the Anthony Jolly Memorial Scholarship.

His Story

Throughout his time at Roosevelt, JeCari’s leadership was defined by how he treated the people around him.

As the starting quarterback, he earned trust not just through performance, but through encouragement, accountability, and respect. He made it a priority to ensure every teammate felt valued — especially in moments of pressure or adversity.

Across football, basketball, and baseball, JeCari was known for setting the tone. Younger athletes looked to him for guidance. Teammates relied on him for support. Coaches trusted him to lead with integrity.

Off the field, JeCari carried this same mindset into the community. Whether volunteering at Special Olympics, working events like RAGBRAI and the Iowa State Fair, or holding jobs that required responsibility and discipline, he approached each opportunity with a desire to serve others.

His influence was never loud — it was consistent, genuine, and impactful.

A Legacy Reflected

The values JeCari demonstrates — unity, resilience, joy, and care for others — mirror the legacy of Anthony Jolly.

Like Anthony, JeCari leaves people better than he found them. His presence brings positivity. His leadership builds trust. His character strengthens the communities he is part of.
